CHARLESTON, S.C.- The No.34 Kent State Golden Flashes finished second among a field of 15 at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday. In their final round, the Golden Flashes shot a 12-under 276 for a tournament total of 842 (22-under).

Individually, senior Ian Holt (Stow, Ohio) finished in third place at 10-under, after shooting a 3-under par 69 on Tuesday.Holt finished the tournament with 16 birdies, with four In the final round. Ole Miss' Braden Thornberry claimed medalist honors at 13-under.

Junior Bjarki Petursson (Borgarnes, Iceland) finished in the top-five with a 7-under par score of 209, firing a 3-under 69 for the third round.

Also in the top-10 was senior Chase Johnson (Barberton, Ohio) who finished 10^th at 4-under par 212. Johnson fired a third round 2-under par 70 to close out the tournament.

The top performance of the day belonged to Junior Josh Gilkison (Springboro, Ohio) who shot his best round at 4-under 68 with a total of five birdies on the day. Two of which were back-to-back on holes 13 and 14. Gilkison finished in a tie for 35^th overall at 3-over.

Junior Gisli Sveinbergsson (Hafnarfjordur, Iceland) also scored his best round of the tournament firing a 2-under 20 on the final day. Sveinbergsson finished the tournament in a tie for 29^th at 2-over par 218.

The combined 66 birdies from the Golden Flashes' five ranked No.1 in the field, and also contributed to leading the tournament on par 5s at 22- under.

No.41 Ole Miss earned the team crown at 23-under 841.

Kent State returns to action April 7-8 at the Aggie Invitational in Texas.
