
Track and Field Set for MAC Outdoor Championships

The Kent State men's and women's track and field teams will compete for the conference crown this weekend at the 2018 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Championships inside of UB Stadium on the campus of the University at Buffalo from May 10-12.
Action begins Thursday, May 10 at 10 a.m. with the men's decathlon (100-meter dash) and the women's hammer. The women's heptathlon gets started with the 100-meter hurdles at 10:45 a.m. Qualifiers for sprints and hurdles are on the slate for afternoon, beginning with the 1,500-meter run at 4:25 p.m.
The decathlon (110-meter hurdles) picks back up to open Friday's competition at 10:30 a.m. with the heptathlon (long jump) set for 11 a.m. The women's shot put and long jump get field events started at 12:30 p.m. with the rest of the running prelims slated for 1 p.m.
Saturday's action begins at 11 a.m. with the men's triple jump, women's high jump and women's discus. Championship races are scheduled to start at 12 p.m. with the women's 4x100 relay and will conclude at approximately 4:15 p.m. The competition will be followed by the awards ceremony at 4:20 p.m., with the meet's top individuals and teams being crowned.
