Long Road Swing Ends in Loss to Eagles

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Kent State fell to 0-2 in Mid-American Conference action on Saturday, falling to host Eastern Michigan, 3-0 (19-25, 20-25, 19-25).
The Golden Flashes (7-9) will return to its home floor inside of the M.A.C. Center next weekend for the first time since Sept. 1. Kent State will host rival Akron on Friday, Sept. 28 and Buffalo on Saturday, Sept. 29.
Solid floor defense helped the Flashes hold a 64-61 edge in digs. Freshman Kathryn Ellison had a team-high 20 digs, and fellow freshman Erin Gardner added 18 digs.
Junior Ashley Makruski led all players with a season-high 10 kills. Ellison posted six kills, while senior Amy Kober and freshman Danie Tyson added five kills each.
Redshirt freshman Alex Haffner recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 27 assists and 13 digs.
