Soccer Hosts OU for Spooky Regular Season Finale

The Kent State women's soccer team (5-9-3, 3-5-2 MAC) hopes to have Ohio seeing ghosts on the field as it hosts the Bobcats for the final Mid-American Conference game of the season inside of Dix Stadium on Thursday, October 31 at 3 p.m.
Last Game
Kent State lost against Miami University, 2-0, in its last contest on Sunday, October 27th in Oxford. Miami scored on an own goal by the Flashes. Kennedy Gray scored the RedHawks second goal in the 64th minute.

The Golden Flashes currently sit in the tenth position in the MAC Standings with 11 points. In order to qualify to the eight-team MAC Tournament, Kent State must win on Thursday while neither Eastern Michigan or Toledo win.

- Sophomore Cameron Shedenhelm joins Kats as the only pair of MAC teammates with at least six goals and six assists on the season. Shedenhelm is tied for fifth in the conference with 18 points.
- Redshirt sophomore goalkeeper Faith O'Neill is tied for second in the conference lead with five shutouts, and earlier this year totaled a career-high eight saves at Buffalo. Now in her second year as the full-time goalkeeper, O'Neill is fifth in school history with 11 career shutouts.
- Head coach Rob Marinaro is the second longest tenured coach in the MAC and is in his in 19th season as head coach and 23rd overall with the program. He owns a 180-148-42 career record.
Scouting Ohio
Ohio (10-7-1, 5-4-1 MAC) lost its last match, 2-1, on Sunday, October 27 in overtime against Ball State. Junior Sarina Dirrig scored the first goal of the game in the fifth minute. Abby Townsend leads the team with 21 points (5g, 11a) and has started in all 18 games. The Bobcats are currently one of four teams tied for in third in the MAC standings with 16 points.
