
Carter’s 22 Paces Flashes in Road Win Against Broncos

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Redshirt junior Megan Carter scored a game-high 22 points and Kent State beat Western Michigan, 56-52, Wednesday evening inside of University Arena.
The Golden Flashes (15-9, 8-5 MAC), which have won five of six games this month, also defeated the Broncos by four points on Feb. 6.
Carter was the only Kent State player in double-figures and recorded her eighth 20-point performance on the season. She shot 8-for-15 from the field and 6-for-7 at the foul line.
Senior Alexa Golden led the Flashes with eight rebounds. Golden made three free throws in the final 16.2 seconds to put the game away and finished with nine points.
Kent State capitalized on WMU's mistakes and turned 16 turnovers into 19 points.
Freshman Hannah Young blocked a career-high three shots.
Kent State returns to the M.A.C. Center for the next two games for matchups with the teams sitting at the top of the Mid-American Conference standings. The Flashes will host Ohio on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 2 p.m. and first-place Miami on Wednesday, Feb. 27 at 7 p.m.
