
Flashes Open The Hootie at Bulls Bay Sunday

KENT, Ohio- The Kent State men's golf team heads south competing at the 15th annual 2019 Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate, March 24-26 in the Lowcountry. The 54-hile, three-day event is located at the Bulls Bay Golf Club in Awendaw, S.C.
South Carolina will host the tournament on the 6,104-yard, par-72 Bulls Bay course. Golfers will hit the links in tee times start at 10 a.m. with one round each day on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The Flashes are making their second appearance in the tournament, as they competed last in it last season and finished second. Competing for the Flashes will be seniors Bjarki Petursson and Gisli Sveinbergsson, junior Chris Doody, and freshmen Julien Paltrinieri and Johnny Travale.
Kent State will be among a talented field this week. The Flashes will be joined by No. 4 Duke, No. 20 South Carolina, No. 27 NC State, No. 36 Kansas State, No. 38 Iowa State, No. 48 Ole Miss, Purdue, Virginia, College of Charleston, Kentucky, Missouri, and Wisconsin make up the field.
The Flashes will be paired with South Carolina and Ole Miss for the opening round and will tee off from the first hole at 10:45 a.m.
