
Golden Flashes Drop Final Game of Inaugural Season

KENT, Ohio โ The Kent State lacrosse team (2-15, 1-5 ASUN) finished its inaugural season with a 23-6 loss to Liberty (12-4, 4-1 ASUN).
Abby Jones became the first Kent State lacrosse player in program history to record 50 total points in a season, finishing with 52 points (32g, 20a). Jones scored two goals and recorded three assists against the Flames.
Lluna Katz scored two goals for the Flashes, giving her a team-high 34 goals on the season. Her 15 caused turnovers on the year were second most on the team.
Madison Rapier scored her eighth goal of the season in the game and recorded a team-high three caused turnovers. Rapier also finished with two draw controls. Eva Nikolai rifled home her sixth career goal against the Flames.
Maddy Mead recorded a team-high three ground balls against Liberty, while Alyssa Monroe added two ground balls, two draw controls and two caused turnovers.
Liberty outshot Kent State 43-16 in the game, including a 36-13 margin in shots on goal. The Flames controlled the draw against the Flashes, 21-8.
Anna Keebler led the Flames with four goals. Six different players scored multiple goals for the Flames as they coasted to the victory.
Katherine Widrick (12-4) scored the win in goal for the Flames, recording five saves and two goals against in 30 minutes.
Hope Flack tallied seven draw controls, while Brianna McCaffrey and Carly White recorded five and four draw controls, respectively. ย
