Men’s Golf Headed to Texas for Aggie Invitational

KENT, Ohio- The Kent State University men's golf team will be back in action this weekend when it takes part in the Aggie Invitational at Texas A&M's Traditions club.
The Golden Flashes will be one of 13 teams in action at the par-72, 7,146-yard layout. Play will get underway on Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. with the second round set to begin at 11:30 a.m. Sunday's final round is slated for a 7:30 a.m. start.
Kent State will go up against a talented field including five teams ranked top-25 in the nation, No. 1 Oklahoma State, No. 2 Arizona State, No. 10 Texas Tech, No. 12 LSU, and No. 24 Baylor. Other teams competing are tournament host No. 27 Texas A&M, No. 62 New Mexico, No. 73 Washington, Lamar, Michigan, New Mexico State, and North Texas.
The Flashes will have a lineup of Gisli Sveinbergsson, Will Kurtz, Josh Gilkison, Johnny Travale, Julien Paltrinieri, and Brayden Baldridge.
Last season, the Flashes beat out the Nation's Top-ranked field at the Aggie Invitational and finished second with a 12-over 876 score. The Flashes finished seven shots behind the tournament champion, No.1 Oklahoma State.
