
Flashes Start NCAA Championship in Arkansas on Friday

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The No. 5 Kent State women's golf team has arrived Fayetteville, Ark. with one goal in mind, bring home the 2019 NCAA National Championship. Kent State begins its quest on Friday with the first of four rounds of stroke play at Blessings Golf Club.
This year marks the fifth year under the new format, which features four rounds of stroke play and three rounds of match play to determine the national champion. The 24-team field will face 18 holes of stroke play on both Friday (May 17), Saturday (May 18) and Sunday (May 19) before the field is trimmed to 15. Then on Monday, May 20, the top eight teams from those 15 will advance to the match play portion.
Play on Tuesday, May 21 will feature the match play quarterfinals in the morning and the semifinals in the afternoon, with the last two teams standing squaring off for the NCAA Championship on Wednesday afternoon (May 22).

THE KENT STATE LINEUP
Kent State will feature a lineup of senior Michaela Finn, junior Pimnipa Panthong and Karoline Stormo, sophomore Chloe Salort, and freshman Thitapa Pakdeesettakul.
SEASON TEAM SUMMARY
The lineup is stacked with talent and features three of the top-120 golfers in the country. Stormo stands out as the team's ace, ranking 34th in the nation followed by Panthong (No. 44) and Finn (No. 79).
This will be the seventh appearance at the NCAA National Championship for the women's golf team. The Flashes have advanced to the quarterfinals in three-straight seasons.
