Women’s Basketball Adds Indiana Transfer Linsey Marchese

KENT, Ohio — Kent State women's basketball head coach Todd Starkey announced that Indiana transfer Linsey Marchese has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Golden Flashes.
The 6'4" center who played in 67 games over the past two seasons for the Hoosiers and will sit out the 2019-20 season due to NCAA transfer rules. She will have two years of eligibility remaining.
"We are really excited to add Linsey to our program," Starkey said. "She's a great fit with our program. She will bring toughness and help solidify our front line for years to come. We look forward to getting her on campus and having her be a part of our Flash family."
Marchese averaged 11.7 minutes per game while helping Indiana to 44 victories during her two seasons in Bloomington. The Hoosiers earned the second NCAA Tournament victory in program history this past March and capped a school record 23-win campaign by winning the 2018 Postseason WNIT. Marchese scored a career-best nine points in a victory over Sweet 16 participant Missouri State.
Kent State is coming off its first 20-win season since 2009-10. The Flashes took down Green Bay to earn the program's first Postseason WNIT victory on March 21.
