
Flashes women’s lacrosse team avoids major damage from cancellation of 2020 season

Relatively speaking, Kent State women's lacrosse took only a glancing blow from the cancellation of the 2020 season compared to most other spring programs.
Sure, missing the final 11 games of the campaign due to coronavirus ramifications was a difficult pill for the Golden Flashes to swallow. But as a second-year program with all freshmen and sophomores who have each received an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA, the six contests they did get to play in '20 could be considered an extra mini-season of sorts in the grand scheme of things.
"Bonus games," said Flashes head coach Brianne Tierney. "I guess that's a good way of looking at it."
