
Flashes in Seventh at Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas- The Kent State men's golf team golf team stands in seventh place late in the second round of the Border Olympics before play was suspended due to darkness Monday evening.
The Flashes opened the tournament with a 298 (+8) in the morning round and stood at +10 late in the second round.
Most teams will have one or two holes remaining to complete in their second round before beginning the final round of play on Tuesday morning.
Julien Paltrinieri and Cade Breitenstine lead the Flashes tied for 15th. Breitenstine fired a 71 (-1) in the opening round and sits at 3-over with two holes to go in second round. Paltrinieri fired a 76 (+4) in the opening round and sits (-2) with two holes.
Josh Gilkison is tied for 33nd after posting an opening round of 74 (+2) and is +4 in the second round with two holes remaining. Chris Vandette is tied for 49th after firing a 75 (+3) in the opening round and +5 with two holes remaining.
Will Kurtz is tied 77th after a 77 (+5) first round score and is 7-over in the second round with two holes to play.
Teams will wrap up their second rounds at 8 a.m. tomorrow before beginning the final round of play.
