PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Kent State Golden Flashes (1-5) fell at the hands of Duquesne (1-0) on Tuesday afternoon.
The Flashes kept it close early with Madison Rapier scoring the first goal of the day for Kent State, but Duquesne took over and never let up down the stretch.
Jackie Wolford led Kent State with two goals, including the first goal of her career. Kelli Bailey tallied her first goal of the 2021 season.
The Dukes defense stifled the Flashes all afternoon, forcing … turnovers. Three different Duquesne players recorded seven points or more, with Michaela Connelly leading the way with eight (5g, 3a).
Seven Golden Flashes forced the Dukes into several turnovers on the day as well, led by Rapier who caused a career-high four.
