Flashes Field Hockey Picked Second in Preseason Poll

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team has been picked to finish second in the Mid-American Conference, as the preseason coaches' poll was announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes received a total of 41 votes, finishing just one point behind Miami.
The 2021 MAC spring field hockey season will consist of 12 conference matches in a double round robin format over a seven-week period between March 12 and April 24. The regular season champion will receive the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Tournament.
Last season, Kent State finished 11-9 overall and 5-1 in MAC play to earn the No. 1 seed in the MAC Tournament.
Head coach Kyle DeSandes-Moyer, in her second season with the Flashes, will have All-MAC First Team selections junior Helena Cambra Soler and senior Clara Rodriguez Seto return to the field.
