
Flashes Hold First Place at Indiana Invitational as Play Suspended

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.- The Kent State women's golf team is in first place and junior Emily Price sits atop leaderboard after the first day of the Indiana Invitational at Pfau Course at Indiana University. The Flashes were scheduled to play 36 holes before round two was suspended due to darkness with Kent State on holes 14-16.
The Flashes ended the day at -10 as a team, led by Price's -4 through 34 holes.
Kent State has two other players in the top-10 with Kory Nielsen tied for third at 1-under. Nielsen carded a 73 (+1) in the opening round and sits at 2-under with four holes to play. Chloe Salort is tied for ninth after starting the opening round with a 72 (E) and is 1-over in the second round with four holes to play.
Caley McGinty is tied for 12th at 2-over. She fired a 78 (+6) in the opening round and sits at 4-under with four holes left in the second round. Marissa Kirkwood and Mayka Hoogeboom are tied for 26th at 4-over. Kirkwood completed the first round with a 73 (+1) score and is 3-over with three holes left to play. Hoogeboom shot an even-par for the first round and is 4-over with two holes to play in the second round.
Maryland is in second place (+2) followed by Michigan (+3).
The Second round will be completed Sunday morning, followed by the final round.
