
Flashes Get Senior Day Win Over Titans

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State women's lacrosse team (5-10, 4-6 MAC) took down Detroit Mercy (2-6, 2-6 MAC) on Senior Day at Dix Stadium.
The Golden Flashes honored its two seniors, Emily Speckman and Carlee Cook, on Saturday. Kent State sent the seniors out a high note with the 20-11 victory. The fifth win of the season marks a new single season record for the team.
Abby Jones highlighted the Flashes' performance, tying the team-high with five goals. Her second goal of the afternoon broke the Kent State record for most goals in a single season. She finished 2021 with 38 goals and 10 assists to lead the team in both categories.
Jackie Wolford tied Jones with five goals on the day. She finished the season with 27 goals, all of which came over the final 10 games. Wolford's 27-goal season is the fifth most in Kent State history.
Madison Rapier two goals on Saturday added to her season total of 31. Megan Kozar and Kenzie Sklar each recorded two goals against the Titans, while Kelli Bailey, Katie Pettine, Jordan Zablo and Meghan Cawood added goals as well.
Madison Flannigan led the Flashes defense, recorded nine saves and allowing just 11 goals on the day. Flannigan's .450 save percentage helped the Flashes get a win to end the 2021 season.
