Flashes Field Hockey Picked Second in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team has been tabbed to finish second in the Mid-American Conference, as the preseason coaches' poll was announced Thursday afternoon.
The Golden Flashes received a total of 55 votes, finishing three behind Miami.
Last season, Kent State finished 11-3 overall and 9-3 in MAC play.
Head coach Kyle DeSandes-Moyer, in her third season with the Flashes, will have All-MAC First Team selections senior Helena Cambra Soler and fifth year Clara Rodriguez Seto return to the field.
All eight teams will compete in the 2021 Fall season MAC Field Hockey Tournament hosted at Miami University, competing in a single elimination bracket Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6.
Kent State begins their fall campaign with three games in five days facing off against Michigan State on Friday, Aug. 27, Saint Louis on Sunday, Aug. 29, and Ohio State on Tuesday, Aug. 31. All games will be played at Murphy-Mellis Field.
