Flashes Fall to No. 5 Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Kent State field hockey team (3-2, 0-0 MAC) had their three-game win streak snapped by No. 5 Northwestern falling by a score of 1-6 at Lakeside Field.
After a first quarter that ended with a 1-0 Northwestern advantage, the Wildcats found their stride and scored three more goals in the second quarter. Both teams would go scoreless in the third before Northwestern found the back of the net two more times and Kent State scored once in the fourth.
Senior Luisa Knapp scored for the Flashes. She was assisted by fellow senior Helena Cambra Soler.
Kent State will face off against No. 25 Maine tomorrow, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m.
