Field Hockey Upsets #14 Syracuse for Back-to-Back Ranked Wins

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State field hockey team (3-1, 0-0 MAC) upset #14 Syracuse with a come from behind win 2-1 at J.S. Coyne Stadium earlier this afternoon.
After falling behind in the first quarter, the Flashes went into halftime trailing 1-0.
Kent State would tie the game with 7:42 remaining in the third quarter when fifth year Clara Rodriguez Seto found the back of the net. Both teams would go scoreless for the rest of regulation sending the game to overtime.
It took the Flashes just 3 minutes and 22 seconds to secure the victory in overtime. Sophomore Jenna McCrudden scored a top shelf goal off a pass from senior Helena Cambra Soler to win 2-1.
Fifth year goalkeeper Azure Fernsler had 7 saves on the day for Kent State.
The Flashes will take on Northwestern on Friday, Sept. 10 at 1 p.m. in Evanston, Illinois.
