Kent State falls to Michigan State in last regular season contest

EAST LANSING, MI – The Kent State field hockey team fell to Michigan State, 3-1, this afternoon.
In the first quarter, the Spartans scored the first goal at 9:27 after they earned a penalty corner. The Golden Flashes came back and tied up the score, 1-1, when Patricia Strunk scored from an assist by Agustina Florio. Michigan State took the lead with two minutes left in the second quarter. Both teams went scoreless in the third quarter. In the first 35 seconds of the final quarter, the Spartans scored to make the score 3-1.
The Flashes led in shots (16-14) and penalty corners (7-5).
Kent State travels to Oxford on Friday, Nov. 4 to take on App State at 2:30 p.m in the Mid-American Conference Championship.
