
Kent State Drops Finale to Ohio

ATHENS, Ohio – Kent State lost to host Ohio, 3-0 (23-25, 17-25, 15-25), in the final match of the season Wednesday night.
The Golden Flashes (13-16, 4-14 MAC) had a tough time putting points away and totaled a season-low 28 kills. Senior Savannah Matthews led the attack with seven kills and added a team-high 14 digs. Freshman Mia Soerensen was right behind with six kills. Graduate student Alex Haffner totaled 24 assists.
Kent State won the first three points of the night and eventually jumped out to an 11-3 lead. The Bobcats fought back and eventually went ahead with a six-point rally to take the opening set, 25-23.
The Flashes never led in the second set and was outscored 19-9 after splitting the first 12 points in the third.
