SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Murray State
The Racers (2-3) earned a pair of wins against Southern Indiana on opening weekend before winning just three sets during a 0-3 trip to Liberty. Charleston Southern
The Buccaneers swept host Mercer, 3-0, on Saturday to conclude a 2-1 weekend and move above .500 on the season.
Outside hitter Peyton Thompson, an All-Big South First Team performer in 2021, leads the way with 4.39 points and 3.74 kills per set. Outside hitter Skylar Yates adds 2.67 kills per set, and libero Angelika Rusin paces the Big South at 4.89 digs per set.
Marshall
The host Thundering Herd will host their second tournament of the season. After a 1-2 weekend to start the season, Marshall went 2-1 with a loss to MAC member Miami.
Outside hitter Regan Tinkle leads the attack with 2.77 kills per set. Tinkle is hitting .301 on the season and has been above .300 in four of six matches. Libero Kaitlyn Gehler was named Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week for her performance at the Miami Invitational and leads the conference in digs per set (4.95).
UP NEXT
