Cross Country Set for Tune Up at EMU Fall Classic

The Kent State cross country program returns to action at the EMU Fall Classic on Friday, Oct. 20. The meet will be held at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Michigan.
The starting gun will sound at 4:30 p.m. for the men's race and shortly after 5 p.m. for the women's race. Both races will be 5K.
Last Time Out
Junior Baidy Ba earned his first Mid-American Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honor after winning the Orange 8K at the XC23 Pre-Nationals meet, his second career victory. Ba crossed the finish line in 24:06.7 and was joined in the top-75 by senior Ethan Yost (24:56.8), graduate student Trey Double (25:28.4) and senior Jacob Mirabell (25:38.1).
Junior Sydney Gallagher led the Golden Flashes in the women's Orange 6K race and placed 100th in 22:42.7. Freshman Ella McCollom (22:58.1) and junior Lany Straub (22:58.3) were close behind to finish 113th and 114th, respectively.

Kent State will compete at the 2023 MAC Cross Country Championships at Mel Brodt Cross Country Course in Bowling Green, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 28.
