
Flashes Victory in Final Home Game

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State field hockey team (6-9, 4-2 MAC) won 3-1 against Longwood (3-14, 1-5 MAC) this afternoon.
In the first quarter, the Lancers took the lead early 1-0 after a penalty corner. The Flashes responded later in the quarter when Katie Wuerstle scored to tie the game 1-1 from an assist by Emma Rolston.
Using the team's momentum, Eva Usoz converted a penalty corner in the second quarter, bringing Kent State up 2-1.
In the third quarter, Usoz recorded her second goal of the game during the Flashes eighth penalty corner.
Both teams were scoreless in the fourth quarter and the final resulted 3-1. Kent State led in corners (12-7) and shots (21-9).
Up next, the Flashes take on Bellarmine on Friday, Oct. 27 at 6 p.m. in the last regular season Mid-American Conference matchup.
