Flashes fall to Presbyterian College

KENT, Ohio – The Kent State lacrosse team lost 11-10 to Presbyterian College this afternoon.
To start off the first quarter, Kenzie Sklar scored from the top of the circle to give the Flashes the lead 1-0. Four minutes later, the Blue Hose were able to tie the score 1-1.With an assist by Morgan Kubicki, Jackie Wolford scored a goal which brought the score 2-1. Presbyterian secured a free position shot and scored another goal a man-up, tying the score 2-2. The next three goals were awarded to Wolford as she brought the score to 5-2. After the Blue Hose's responded with a single goal, Sidney Dering and Zayda Crumpton each scored goals for Kent State. With one second left in the quarter, Presbyterian scored bringing the score to 7-4.
In the second quarter, the Blue Hose scored back-to-back goals in the first eight minutes. Sklar scored the only goal for the Golden Flashes during the quarter. Nine seconds before the half, Presbyterian scored another goal while being a man-up taking the score to 8-7.
Ten minutes into the third quarter, the Blue Hose tied the score 8-8. Shortly after, Crumpton scored her second goal of the game and continued a lead for the Flashes. Presbyterian then tied the score once again 9-9 and then took the lead 10-9 with five seconds left in the quarter.
Going into the final quarter, Wolford tied the score 10-10 with her fifth goal of the game. With four minutes remaining, the Blue Hose took the lead 11-10 until the end of regulation.
