KENT, Ohio — Kent State women's basketball head coach Todd Starkey has completed his full-time staff for the 2023-24 season by promoting De'Jovia Davis to Director of Basketball Operations, he announced on Friday.
"Jovi is incredibly skilled in many areas and proved her value to our program in her role as graduate assistant over the past year," Starkey said. "It is exciting to have her as a full-time member of our staff."
Davis joined the Golden Flashes as a graduate assistant last summer and helped increase the program's social media presence with her photography and videography skills.
Prior to Kent State, Davis worked four seasons with the Pitt women's basketball program as a student manager. She served as the head student manager during her final two seasons and worked closely with the Director of Basketball Operations and Director of Recruiting Operations.
Davis moves into a role previously held by Paige Salisbury, who was promoted to assistant coach earlier this month. Assistant coach Alexa Golden also received a title enhancement and will serve as the program's recruiting coordinator.
"The continuity of our staff has been huge in sustaining success and it's great to be able to promote alumni within our Flash Family," Starkey said.
All four coaching positions are held by members of the program during Starkey's first season in 2016-17. Associate head coach Fran Recchia enters her eighth season at Kent State, while Golden and Salisbury were student-athletes on that team that captured the Mid-American Conference East Division title.
