
Golden Flashes to Visit Bowling Green on Saturday for MAC Women’s Hoops Opener

Kent State begins Mid-American Conference play on the road with a 2 p.m. tip scheduled for Saturday against Bowling Green.
The Golden Flashes (5-6) made history on Monday with the largest margin of victory in the program's record book, defeating Davis & Elkins, 117-37. Kent State shot just under 60% from the field and eight players reached double-figures to contribute to the third highest single-game scoring performance in program history. Mya Babbitt led the way with 19 points and Rylee Kalocay posted career-highs in points (16), rebounds (6), assists (6) and steals (4).
Junior Mya Babbitt is the MAC's third leading scorer at 15.7 points per game and has two of the top four single-game scoring performances in the league. Babbitt is tied for second in the conference with 25 three-point field goals and is the Flashes' second leading rebounder (4.9 rpg). Juniors Janae Tyler (10.5 ppg) and Riley Rismiller (8.6 ppg) provide low post options. Rismiller has three double-doubles and ranks seventh in the MAC in rebounding with 7.3 per game. Senior Dionna Gray (4.4 ppg) is fifth in the MAC in assists with 5.2 per game.
Scouting Bowling Green
The Falcons (7-4) have won six straight games by an average margin of 36.2 points and are the MAC's top scoring team at 75.8 points per contest. Defensively, Bowling Green ranks in the top three in steals per game (11.0), turnovers forced per game (20.2) and blocks per game (4.6). The Falcons are 7-0 when forcing 18 or more turnovers.
Guard Paige Kohler recorded the first triple-double in program history during Sunday's win over Lourdes and enters league play with averages of 14.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. Guard Johnea Donahue adds 12.9 points per game and ranks sixth in the country with 3.9 steals per game. Forwards Lauren Gerken (6.2 ppg), Taya Ellis (6.1 ppg) and Jaedyn Cook (5.5 ppg) each have at least 10 blocks.
