
Kent State Breaks Women’s Basketball Margin of Victory Record on Education Day

KENT, Ohio — The Kent State women's basketball team rewrote the record book with a 117-37 victory during the annual Education Day presented by Ohio 529 on Monday inside of the M.A.C. Center.
The Golden Flashes (5-6) beat the previous record of 78 points, which was set two seasons ago in a victory over La Roche, by shooting just under 60% from the field. Kent State made 46 of 77 shots and sank a season-best 11 three-pointers to finish with the third highest single-game scoring performance in program history.
Eight different Flashes scored in double-figures, with a ninth adding nine points. Junior Mya Babbitt led the way with 19. Freshman Rylee Kalocay posted new career-bests with 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Junior Riley Rismiller and senior Tatiana Thomas each had 13 in the contest. Sophomore Emory Klatt (13), freshman Anna Campanelli (11) and sophomore Meghan Murray (11) each had career-best scoring efforts. In her season debut, sophomore Journey Hildebrand added 10 points.
Kent State dominated the glass and finished with a 60-18 rebounding advantage. Rismiller grabbed 10 boards for her third double-double of the campaign. Graduate student Bianca Juzzo and Klatt recorded a career-high eight rebounds each.
The Flashes shared the ball well and recorded a season-high 33 assists. Senior Dionna Gray led the way with seven and committed just a single turnover.
Kent State begins Mid-American Conference action on Saturday at Bowling Green. Tip inside of the Stroh Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
