Flashes Place Two in Top Ten, Finish 6th at Mary Fossum Invitational

Leon Takagi and Hester Sicking both secured top ten finishes the past two days at the Mary Fossum Invitational.
Takagi soared 17 spots up the leaderboard on Monday, tying a for a tournament round best of 69 to end up at one over par, earning her a tie for 7th place.
Hester Sicking scored the second top ten finish of her career, tying for ninth at two over par. Sicking stayed consistent throughout the tournament, shooting a three round line of (73-73-72).
"Leon had a great final round and Hester controlled the controllables much better," said Head Coach Casey VanDamme.
First year Veronika Kedronova, fresh off a tournament win in her collegiate debut, was the other Golden Flash to finish in the top 40, tying for 32nd shooting nine over par.
As a team, Kent State tied for 6th among the 15 team field
The Golden Flashes return to action as they head to fellow MAC opponent Toledo next Monday and Tuesday to compete in the Glass City Invitational.
