
Flashes Continue MAC Play Against the Bobcats

The Kent State field hockey team (2-6, 1-0 MAC) takes on Ohio University (2-3, 0-1 MAC) for a Mid-American Conference matchup at Murphy-Mellis Field on Friday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m.
About the Flashes
In the first MAC contest of the season on Friday, the Flashes dominated on offense with a 8-0 victory over Central Michigan. Kent State is ranked first in the MAC with 15 goals scored on the year so far. Freshman Maybritt Duwel is tied for fourth in the conference for most shots on goal (8) and Eva Usoz is tied for second in goals (4).
Scouting Ohio
The Bobcats opened MAC play on Friday against Ball State. In a close contest, Ohio fell 2-1 in overtime. Katelyn White is tied for first in rankings in the MAC for points (11), while she also leads the team in goals (4) and shots (12). The Bobcats sit third in the conference assists (11).
The Series
Kent State holds a 55-26-2 advantage over Ohio in the all-time series. The Flashes have won their last two matchups against the Bobcats in overtime and are on a 10-game win streak against the intrastate rival.
Up Next
The Flashes travel to Indiana to take on Ball State on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 12 p.m. for the first half of a two-game road trip. Kent State returns to Murphy-Mellis Field on Oct. 8 to host Ohio State at 1 p.m.
