The Golden Flashes (8-4, 2-0 MAC) shot 50% and took down Ohio, 92-63, on Saturday for their fourth consecutive victory. Kent State pounded the ball inside for 42 points in the paint and shot 27-of-38 overall on two-point attempts en route to the highest-scoring performance in regulation against a conference opponent since Jan. 11, 2017. Sophomore Corynne Hauser recorded a career-high 10 assists and scored all 16 of her points in the first half for her first points-assist double-double. Redshirt senior Katie Shumate also posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Jenna Batsch scored 16 points after halftime and finished with a team-high 18.
Kent State has been terrific on the defensive side of the ball and leads the MAC in opponent field goal percentage (.370), opponent three-point field goal percentage (.268) and rebounding margin (+5.7 rpg), while ranking second in points allowed (61.0 ppg) and turnover margin (+4.3).
