PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State (1-15, 0-6 MAC) has not been able to establish a consistent rotation, as junior Greta Bolognini and freshman Hailey Brenner are the only team members who have appeared in all 54 sets this season. Bolognini has earned the libero jersey in her first season as a Golden Flash and ranks ninth in the MAC in digs per set (3.78) and aces per set (0.33).
Junior Kendall White surpassed 1,000 career assists during the match at Buffalo on Oct. 5. White ranks eighth in the conference in assists per set (6.91) and is second on the team at 2.65 digs per set.
Junior Mackenzie McGuire leads the attack with an average of 2.64 kills per set. Sophomore Logan Henderson and redshirt senior Karina Salinas add 1.86 kills per set and 1.82 kills per set, respectively.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Miami
The RedHawks (6-12, 0-7 MAC) have lost eight in a row after surpassing last season's win total just 10 matches into the season.
Middle hitter Gentry Warrick ranks second in the conference in blocking (1.29 bps) while leading Miami with a .264 hitting percentage. Setter Hayden Hicks is sixth in the MAC in assists per set (7.66). Outside hitter Raegan Lantz averages a team-high 2.73 kills per set.
Ball State
Picked third in the MAC preseason poll, the Cardinals (10-8, 3-4 MAC) look to avoid matching last season's conference loss total just halfway through league play.
Setter Megan Wielonski ranks second in the conference in assists per set (9.53) and has helped Ball State post the best team hitting percentage in the MAC (.249). Outside hitters Carson Tyler (3.19 kps) and Aniya Kennedy (3.18 kps) are the go-to attackers, while middle hitters Aayinde Smith (1.19 bpg) and Gwen Crull (1.17 bpg) lead a strong block.
