
Ba’s Second Straight Victory Highlights Strong Showing at Falcon Invite

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Senior Baidy Ba won his second race in a row as the Kent State cross country teams closed the regular season on Friday at the Falcon Invitational.
Ba crossed the finish line in the men's 8k in 24:43.5, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the second-place runner, for his third victory overall this season.
The Golden Flashes placed fifth as a team. Graduate student Ethan Yost ran his best 8k race of the season and finished seventh with a time of 25:15.0. Sophomore Rylan Winkler (26:48.2; 39th) and senior Jonah Cuestas (27:17.5; 50th) also posted top-50 finishes.
The women finished ninth in the 6k, one spot of regionally-ranked Eastern Michigan. Freshman Nora Salem was the Flashes' top runner, finishing in a personal-best time of 23:03.1 for 40th place. Senior Sydney Miller (23:42.7) and junior Nicole Kuehner (23:55.8) also ran sub-24:00 races to finish 64th and 68th, respectively.
Kent State heads to Muncie, Indiana next for the Mid-American Conference Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2.
