CLEVELAND, Ohio – It was announced on Tuesday that Eva Usoz has won the MAC Offensive Player of the Week award. It is the sophomore's second time earning the award this season.
Usoz earns the honor after a weekend in which she scored two goals and had two assists across two wins for the Flashes. In Friday's match versus Central Michigan, she recorded a goal and two assists to help Kent State to a 7-3 victory. Her lone goal was exquisite, carrying the ball from midfield past multiple defenders and the goalkeeper before calmly finding the back of the cage. In Sunday's match at Ohio, Usoz scored one of the best goals of the season in overtime to secure a road conference victory for the Flashes. She made a run from the defensive half of the field to reach the ball at the end line before finding the back of the cage with a first-time shot from an extremely improbable angle.
After this weekend, the reigning MAC Freshman of the Year improved her team-leading season tallies to seven goals, six assists, and 20 points.
Usoz and the Flashes return to Murphy-Mellis Field for a senior day clash with Bellarmine on Friday, October 25, at 3 p.m.
