PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State (1-11, 0-2 MAC) won the first two sets to start conference play last week before losing six in a row to visiting Eastern Michigan. Junior Mackenzie McGuire returned to form with an average of 3.63 kills per set and .303 hitting percentage over the two matches. McGuire now leads the Golden Flashes with 83 kills this season. Sophomore Logan Henderson (78 kills) and redshirt senior Karina Salinas (74 kills)
Junior Kendall White ranks sixth in the conference in assists per set (7.19). Since sharing setting duties during opening weekend, White has averaged 9.56 assists per set over the past five contests in which she has played.
Junior Greta Bolognini has earned the libero jersey in her first season as a Golden Flash and ranks eighth in the MAC in digs per set (4.12) and has a team-high 15 aces. A consistent rotation has not been established, however, as Bolognini and freshman Hailey Brenner are the only team members who have appeared in all 42 sets this season.
SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
Buffalo (5-10, 1-1 MAC) split a pair of road contests against preseason MAC favorite Western Michigan last weekend. The Bulls have dropped just three sets at home while posting a 4-0 record inside of Alumni Arena this season.
Outside hitter Katrin Trebichavska is among the top scoring threats in the MAC and leads the conference in points per set (4.60) and aces per set (0.66) while sitting second in kills per set (3.82). Outside hitter/right side Manoela Forlin adds 3.33 kills per set and led the way with 20 in Saturday's 3-0 sweep of WMU. Middle blocker Abby Leigh has a .385 hitting percentage that ranks in the MAC while averaging 2.85 kills per set. Setter Mandy Leigh ranks third in the conference with 8.45 assists per set.
SERIES HISTORY
Kent State leads the all-time series with Buffalo, 35-19, and looks to end a four-match drought.
