
Track & Field Heads to Al Campbell Invitational for Final Indoor Tuneup

The Kent State track and field program will send a small group of student-athletes to the Al Campbell Invitational at the University of Akron on Friday, Feb. 16 for a final tune-up before next week's Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships.
A pair of Golden Flashes who hold top-50 national rankings in their respective events are entered for competition. Liam Vinskovich is ranked 39th in men's high jump at 7'-0.5", while Kristian Kneffler is ranked 32nd with his school-record jump of 17'-6.5" in men's pole vault.
Four more Flashes are entered and ranked in the top 100 nationally. Gabby Bailey is ranked 76th in women's shot put with a toss of 50'-8.75", she will be joined in the ring by Aliesha Shaw who is 99th with a put of 49'-4.5". Layne Studer cleared a personal best of 16'-8.75" last week in the men's pole vault, that mark ranks him 85th nationally. Nolan Landis will compete in the shot put where his throw of 56'-5.25" ranks him 97th in the country.
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will head to Ypsilanti, Michigan for the 2024 MAC Indoor Championships next Friday and Saturday, February 23-24.
