
Men’s Track and Field Seeks Bragging Rights at MAC Indoor Championships

The Kent State men's track and field team is set for competition at the 2024 Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships. The meet will be held at Bob Parks Track inside the Bowen Field House at Eastern Michigan University.
Competition begins at 10 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. A complete meet schedule is available on the championship central page.

The championship meet is a ticketed event. The full list of ticket links is available HERE. Parking will be available for free at Bowen Field House. Tickets can be purchased at Bowen Field House on each day of the meet.
THE GOLDEN FLASHES
Kent State enters the meet ranked first in the MAC in this week's USTFCCCA Track & Field Rating Index.
The Golden Flashes have 14 individuals and one relay ranked in the top three entering the meet in their respective events.
In the sprints, Sean Callahan Jr. is ranked first in the 60-meter dash and third in the 200-meter dash. Alex Shields will attempt to repeat in the 60-meter hurdles and is ranked first in the race.
In distance events, Ethan Yost has the top time in the 1-mile run while Quintin Cooks and Caleb Bost are ranked second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run.
In relay races, the 4x400-meter team is seeded third, while the DMR team will run for the first time this season with two members of last year's winning team expected to be entered.
In the heptathlon, Ayden Bath enters with the top performance. He will be joined by third-ranked Mason Murphy.
The Flashes will look to shine in the field events where they find half of their top-three ranked entries. Alexandre Malanda leads the field in the triple jump, while Del'Mario Hairston is seeded third. Hairston is also ranked second in the long jump, and Amare Hall is third. In the pole vault, Kristian Kneffler and Layne Studer are seeded second and third, respectively. Liam Vinskovich tops the field in the high jump and Nolan Landis is second in the shot put.
