
Golden Flashes Selected to Finish First in MAC Preseason Poll

CLEVELAND - The Kent State lacrosse team was voted to finish first place by the Mid-American Conference coaches this afternoon.
The Golden Flashes received 33 points ahead of Central Michigan and Robert Morris. Kent State also tied with the Chippewas with three votes for the MAC Tournament Championship.
Kent State enters the 2024 season led by Head Coach Brianne Tierney who was awarded MAC Coach of the Year after leading the Golden Flashes to a share of the first MAC regular season championship in program history.
After a record-breaking season, the Flashes fell to Central Michigan in the MAC Tournament semifinals. Senior Jackie Wolford finished the campaign with 69 goals and shared the MAC's single-season goals record. Wolford was also named MAC Offensive Player of the Year and became the program's all-time points leader with 164 through three seasons.
Kent State kicks off its sixth season this Sunday at Ohio State at 1 p.m.
