
Track and Field Ready for a Busy Weekend

The Kent State track and field team is set for a busy weekend of competition. It will have athletes competing in four different meets across the country. The Flashes will begin competition tomorrow at the Raleigh Relays in Raleigh, N.C. with a group of distance runners. On Friday a group of sprinters will compete at the Texas Relays in Austin, Tex. and the Texas State Bobcat Invitational in San Marcos, Tex. On Saturday the rest of the team will compete in the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational in Cincinnati.
RALEIGH RELAYS:
On Thursday, program record holder Baidy Ba headlines the men's 1500m competition for KSU Later in the day Jackson Albanese will compete in the 5000-meter run. Heats of the 1500m are set to begin at 4:35 p.m. and 5000m heats begin at 6:50 p.m.
On Friday the Golden Flashes will compete in the men's 400-meter dash and the women's 3000-meter steeplechase. The 400m heats begin at 2:55 p.m. and the steeplechase begins at 5:30 p.m..
On Saturday KSU will conclude competition with the women's 800-meter run where Anna Jones, Madison Mandelke and Karsyn Spears will run at 1:30 p.m. At 4:15 the men's 800 meters will include Ba, Caleb Bost, Quintin Cooks, Trey Double, and Dylan McBride.
TEXAS RELAYS:
On Friday, the Golden Flashes will compete in the men's and women's 100-meter dash and 4x100-meter relay, the men's 110-meter hurdles, and the women's 4x400-meter relay. In the women's 4x100 relay, Taylor Korytkowski will team up with Azsah Bradley, Yissis Dominc Cortijo, and Amryne Chilton. In the 4x400 relay, Korytkowski and Chilton will be joined by Jericha Petrella and Ruby Greenwood. In the men's 4x100 Jahiem Jones, Sean Callahan Jr., Connor Boland, and Dejon Manning will compete.
OLIVER NIKOLOFF:
The rest of the team will compete in Cincinnati where Kent has 84 athletes entered in competition. The men are led by indoor Mid-American Conference high jump champion Liam Vinskovich and heptathlon champion Ayden Bath, who will compete in the 100-meter dash, 110-meter hurdles and high jump. The women are led by Svenia DeConinck in the high jump and Gabby Bailey in the shot put and discus.

NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will split squads again next weekend, sending the combined event athletes to the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Miami, Fla. The rest of the team will compete at either the Tennessee Invite in Knoxville, Tenn., or at the Northeast Ohio Open, hosted by Akron.
