
Lacrosse secures final home contest victory

KENT, Ohio - The Kent State lacrosse team (6-11, 3-3 MAC) won, 15-9, against Central Michigan (5-12, 5-1 MAC) this afternoon.
Starting off strong, Haleigh Greenberg put the Flashes on the board, 1-0, after two minutes into the first quarter. The Chippewas were about to tie the score 1-1, until Kent State increased the lead 6-1 with goals from Morgan Halli, Greenberg (2), Jackie Wolford, and Zayda Crumpton. Central Michigan was able to score one more goal before the next quarter.
The Chippewas scored three back-to-back goals to bring the score 6-5. On a free position shot, Lizzie Lunden scored her first career goal for the Flashes. Crumpton recorded her second goal of the game with one minute remaining until halftime.
Megan Cook added a goal in the third quarter for Kent State, including Megan Klepacki who scored her third career goal. Bringing the score 11-7, Wolford secured her second goal of the game.
Greenberg recorded a career high of four goals when she scored at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Crumpton secured her sixth hat trick of the season and Wolford sealed the Flashes' victory with two back-to-back goals to bring the final score 15-9.
Goalkeeper Sydney Davis recorded 12 saves.
