Junior Kendall White tallied her second double-double of the season with 29 assists and 14 digs. Freshman Avrey Rigney posted eight kills and a .350 hitting percentage in her first collegiate start.
Junior Greta Bolognini recorded a team-high 20 digs and redshirt sophomore Alexandria Connatser also made an impact on defense with six blocks.
How it Happened…
Set 1 (25-20): Kent State battled back from an 8-2 deficit and went ahead 11-10 on an attack error by the host. An ace by Kendall White gave the Golden Flashes their largest lead at 24-17. After three straight points for the Pirates, Logan Henderson delivered a kill to take the set.
Set 2 (18-25): Seton Hall used a 7-2 run to take its first lead of the set, 15-11. Kent State fought back to tie it at 17-17, but a pair of 4-0 runs by the Pirates allowed them to tie the match.
Set 3 (24-26): Neither team led by more than three in the third, which had 13 ties and six lead changes. A kill from Avrey Rigney put the Flashes ahead 24-23, but Seton Hall stayed alive with a kill. The Pirates followed with an ace and a block for a 2-1 lead in the match.
Set 4 (11-25): Seton Hall jumped out to a 10-3 lead, and too many attack and serving errors prevented Kent State from putting a comeback together.
