
Batsch Named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week

CLEVELAND – Kent State senior Jenna Batsch has been selected as Mid-American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for competition from Dec. 30-Jan. 5, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The Scholar-Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).Â
Batsch averaged 19.0 points per game on 52.2% shooting to lead the Golden Flashes to a pair of statement victories during the opening week of conference play. The senior guard totaled a team-high 15 points and four assists during Wednesday's conference opener against Bowling Green. Batsch then scored a season-best 23 points and recorded five assists on Sunday as Kent State knocked Buffalo from the ranks of the unbeaten in a matchup featured on CBS Sports Network.
