Kalamazoo, Mich.- The Kent State Soccer team dropped a tough conference matchup on the road Sunday at a soggy Western Michigan University Soccer Complex in the rain. The Broncos started strong in the first half and never looked back as they came away with a 4-1 win.

Drew Martin, who assisted the first goal from Peters, put one in the back of the net herself in the 35th-minute to take a 3-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
Kent State got on the board next in the 69th-minute as senior defender Abby Breitschich put one in the back of the net from a header that was sent in from a junior forward Kiyomi McCausland corner kick, as she was credited with the assist to get the Flashes within two goals.
Western Michigan was able to get one more on the board from Justina L'Esperance who put the ball in the back of the net in the 81st-minute to secure the 4-1 victory for the Broncos.
Western Michigan outshot the Blue and Gold by a count of 13-7 with nine shots on goal compared to three from KSU, while corner kicks were even throughout the match as each side had four. Junior goalkeeper Leah Shaffer was able to produce five saves as well.
