
Kent State Soccer Hosts Toledo In Final Home Game Of 2025

Kent, Ohio- The Kent State Soccer team will face The University of Toledo Rockets in their final home game of the regular season on Thursday with a lot on the line, as a win would punch their ticket to the Mid-American Conference Tournament. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium.
Last Time Out
The Kent State Soccer team dropped a tough conference matchup on the road Sunday against Western Michigan University in the rain. The Broncos started strong in the first half and never looked back as they came away with a 4-1 win.
The first three scores for the Broncos all came within seven minutes of each other, as Kent State started off strong with a couple of chances on their end. Avery Peters scored twice within a minute with a goal in the 28th and 29th minutes respectively. Drew Martin, who assisted the first goal from Peters, put one in the back of the net herself in the 35th-minute to take a 3-0 lead heading into the halftime break.
Kent State got on the board next in the 69th-minute as senior defender Abby Breitschich put one in the back of the net from a header that was sent in from a junior forward Kiyomi McCausland corner kick, as she was credited with the assist to get the Flashes within two goals.
Western Michigan was able to get one more on the board from Justina L'Esperance who put the ball in the back of the net in the 81st-minute to secure the 4-1 victory for the Broncos.
Scouting Western Michigan
Toledo has produced a record of 4-5-5 so far this season with a 1-4-4 record in MAC play. They have scored 14 goals in 13 games as sophomore forward Morgan Spitler has contributed over a third of those with five of her own this season.
Senior forward Kaema Amachree will also be a name to keep an eye on as she has had two goals and one assist this season. Freshman midfielder Molly Kennedy has also scored a goal while dishing out two assists as well. Goalkeeper Agnes Stenlund has accumulated 54 saves in net throughout the season.
Series History
Sunday's contest will be the 31st all-time meeting between the Golden Flashes and the Rockets as KSU has mostly controlled the series by a record of 18-9-3. The Blue and Gold defeated Toledo on their home field a season ago.

After the final home contest of the season, the Golden Flashes will hit the road for their final regular season match-up of 2025 when they travel to Oxford to take on Miami University on Wednesday, October 29th, at 3 p.m.
