
Kent State to Celebrate 50 Years of Women’s Track and Field During Weekend’s Doug Raymond Invitational

Kent State will welcome back former Golden Flashes this weekend and celebrate 50 years of varsity women's track and field program as the home schedule comes to an end with the Doug Raymond Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15 at Kent State Field House.
Admission is $10 each day and fans are encouraged to purchase ahead of time at KSUTix.com.
COMPETITION SCHEDULE
The meet begins at 3 p.m. on Friday with men's weight throw, women's high jump and men's long jump. Running events will start at 5 p.m. with the women's 5,000-meter run and the evening should conclude around 6:30 p.m.
Prior to competition on Saturday, Kent State will recognize its senior class during a brief ceremony beginning at 10:30 a.m. and will then honor alumnae of the program in attendance. Competition will begin at 11 a.m. with the women's pole vault and women's mile.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 74 student-athletes entered for competition, including a pair ranked in the top-100 nationally in their respective events. Keeli Dunaway owns the best national ranking and sits at No. 66 in women's triple jump with a personal-best of 41'-4.25". Liam Vinskovich is 80th in men's high jump at 6'-9.75".
Two additional Flashes are the Mid-American Conference leader in events. Donovan Crawford owns the top men's weight throw with a personal-best of 64'0.25", while Zamen Siyoum has a MAC-leading time of 7.98 seconds in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
Amare Hall (men's long jump), Charles Pawlosky (men's shot put), Nicolas Saviron (men's triple jump), Aliesha Shaw (women's shot put) and Ethan Yost (men's mile) are all ranked in the top three in the conference.
NEXT UP FOR KENT STATE
The Golden Flashes will head back to Ashland next weekend for competition at the AU Last Chance on Saturday, Feb. 22.
