
Flashes Place Five Medalists at AU Last Chance Meet

ASHLAND, Ohio – Kent State Track and Field made a strong showing at the Ashland University Last Chance Meet on Saturday afternoon with five Flashes earning places on the podium.
Donovan Crawford came in first for the Golden Flashes in the men's weight throw at 19.05m/62' 6". Jeremiah Newsom came in fifth at 17.33m/56' 10¼" and Riley Laporte tallied a new personal record at 15.25m/50' 0½" coming 14th.
Kennedy Landrus set a new personal record in the women's weight throw coming in second place at 17.73m/58' 2". Noel Frye came in third place at 17.18m/56' 4½".
Women's shot put saw Aliesha Shaw come in second place at 15.28m/50' 1¾". Aubrey Schoeneman was close behind in fourth throwing 14.36m/47' 1½".
Charles Pawlosky placed fourth in the men's shotput at 17.05m/55' 11¼". Anthony Lambert was ninth at 15.25m/50' 0½".
In women's pole vault, Kyla Taress placed second for Kent State at 3.72m/12' 2½"
Kent State will compete at the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships in Ypsilanti, Mich. from Friday, Feb. 28 to Saturday, March 1.
