Kent State Travels to Jud Logan Light Giver Open for Weekend Track and Field Competition

Kent State resumes the indoor track and field season this weekend at the two-day Jud Logan Light Giver Open, hosted by Ashland University.
The meet begins at 10 a.m. Friday with women's weight throw and women's pentathlon 60-meter hurdles. Running events are scheduled to start with the women's DMR at 3 p.m.
Competition on Saturday is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. as the men's heptathlon resumes with the 60-meter hurdles.
PREVIEWING THE FLASHES
Kent State has 71 student-athletes entered for competition, including four who rank among the top-3 in the Mid-American Conference in their respective events. Donovan Crawford owns the top men's weight throw mark with a personal-best of 64'0.25", while Zamen Siyoum has a MAC-leading time of 7.98 seconds in the men's 60-meter hurdles.
Layne Studer owns the Flashes' best national ranking at No. 83 in the men's pole vault and has cleared 16'-8.75" in both meets he's entered this season.
Charles Pawlosky posted a PR of 55'-8.25" at the Penn State National Open last weekend and ranks third in the conference in men's shot put.
Kent State has student-athletes slated for multis action for the first time this season with Matilde Carboncini and Shelby Grover entered in the women's pentathlon.

The Golden Flashes will head to Ashland University next weekend for the Doug Raymond Invitational on Friday, Feb. 14 and Saturday, Feb. 15. Tickets can be purchased at KSUTix.com.
