BOWLING GREEN- The Kent State Golden Flashes baseball team was walked off by the Bowling Green Falcons on Friday evening.

Kent State drops to 2-2 in Mid-American Conference play while Bowling Green improves to 7-0 during league play.

The Flashes would open the scoring in the top of the first inning thanks to a Hayden Jatczak home run that was parked out over the wall in center field.

Kent State would strike again in the top of the third on a 2-run homer to right field courtesy of Jake Casey.

Bowling Green would respond with five unanswered runs of their own, scoring one in the third and four in the fourth.

The Flashes and Falcons would finish the sixth inning tied up at six. Kent State would get one in the fifth in the on a Brody Williams sacrifice fly and two more in the sixth with Ripken Reese coming in to score on a wild pitch and an RBI fielder's choice by Casey. Bowling Green would tie it up with one of their own in the bottom of the sixth.

Kent State would regain the lead in the seventh when Reese would clear the bases with 3-run triple and could come in a few batters later on an RBI single by Jatczak.

The Falcons started their comeback with three runs in the bottom of the seventh and one in the bottom of the eighth. Bowling Green would score the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

On Deck for the Flashes

Kent State and Bowling Green will meet in the second game of the three-game series on Saturday Mar. 22. First pitch for Saturday is currently set for 1 p.m.
