
Golden Flashes Finish Opening Weekend of Outdoor Track & Field Season

The Kent State track and field program had student-athletes in action at both the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational on Saturday as the opening weekend of the outdoor season concluded.
At the Texas Relays, Alexandre Malanda recorded an outdoor personal-best of 52'-4" to place fifth in the men's triple jump.
Jaheim Jones recorded a pair of top-10 finishes in the short sprints. Jones finished sixth in the men's 100-meter dash with a time of 10.22 seconds and clocked a time of 20.72 seconds for 10th in the men's 200-meter dash.
Two Golden Flashes posted top-10 finishes over in San Marcos at the Bobcat Invitational. Ayden Bath led the way in the men's 110-meter hurdles and placed sixth in 14.00 seconds. Jericha Petrella clocked in at 54.91 seconds for eighth in the women's 400-meter run.
Sean Callahan Jr. opened the outdoor season with a time of 10.43 seconds and placed 13th in the men's 100m. Gabrielle Hammonds finished 14th in the women's 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.13 seconds. Yissis Cortijo Dominc ran a time of 11.81 seconds and placed 16th in the women's 100m.
Kent State will remain in the area next weekend and compete at Slippery Rock's Dave Labor Invitational on Friday, April 4 and Saturday, April 5.
