
Kent State Throwers Dominate at Sparky Adams Invitational

BEREA, Ohio – Kent State student-athletes won five of the six throwing events in which they competed during competition at the 55th Sparky Adams Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Aliesha Shaw earned the first victory of the meet on Friday morning with a top throw of 155'-8" in the women's discus.
The Golden Flashes then swept throws action on Saturday. Donovan Crawford led the way with a personal-best of 195'-4" in the men's hammer throw. Kennedy Landrus was victorious in the women's hammer with a mark of 168'-6". In the shot put, Charles Pawlosky (54'-9.5") won the men's event and Aubrey Schoeneman won the women's event.
Kent State also had three second-place finishers in throwing events. Crawford took second in the men's discus throw (161'-9"), Shaw was second in the women's shot put (44'-9.75") and Tony Lambert took second in the men's shot put (52'-4.75").
The Flashes added wins in two additional field events. Grace Adegoke cleared 5'-5" to win the women's high jump and Monica Naudin soared 18'-1.5" to win the women's long jump.
On the track, Alexandria Verbancic ran a season-best time of 1:01.71 to win the women's 400-meter hurdles.
The Flashes will be back in action at the University of Louisville's Jim Freeman/Clark Wood Invitational on Friday, April 25 and Saturday, April 26.
